Rhys Williams
Rhys Williams is currently Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the University
of Wales Swansea. Prior to that he has worked at the World Health Organisation
in Geneva, the University of Leeds and, from 1977 to 1993, in Cambridge, first
at the Medical Research Council Dunn Nutrition Unit and then at the Institute
of Public Health. His research interests are diabetes epidemiology and health
services research and childhood obesity. He is currently Head of Learning and
Teaching at the School of Medicine in Swansea. He is Chair of Diabetes UK’s
Wales Advisory Council and is a Vice President of the International Diabetes
Federation (IDF). He chairs the IDF’s Task Force on Diabetes Awareness, is
Editor-in-Chief of IDF’s magazine Diabetes Voice and is a member of IDF’s
Prevention Task Force and the Diabetes Atlas Editorial Board.
