Clinicians, epidemiologists and public health professionals with an interest in the epidemiological and public health aspects of diabetes. Participants will be selected on the basis of their potential contribution to the public health efforts related to diabetes in their own countries.
What will the participants be expected to contribute?
- Attendance for the full duration of the course is a condition of acceptance.
- Those chosen for the course will be expected to fund their own travel to and from Cambridge. We recommend that you begin the process of securing funding for this as soon as you know if you have been accepted.
- Accommodation and meals at Clare College will be provided by the organisers [accommodation is available from Sat 12th July till Saturday 19th July (departure) inclusive, with the conference dates being Sunday 13th July till Friday 18th July inclusive.]
- We will provide single accommodation with en-suite facilities (you can check website http://www.clare.cam.ac.uk for details of the accommodation). For any dietary requirements we will collect information from you nearer the time of the conference, if your application has been successful.
- Please note that if you wish to stay on either before or after these dates, you will have to make your own arrangements.
- As the CDS2008 is an intensive residential course we cannot make arrangements for accompanying persons.
- Successful applicants will be sent details of books and articles that they might like to read before attending the course as some advance preparation will assist the learning process during the seminar.
- All participants are invited to make a 10 minute presentation on their research. Details of this will be provided nearer the time.
- You will be asked to fill out an evaluation form at the end of the Seminar.
- We hope that you will enjoy the Seminar and network with other professionals at the forefront of this exciting field.
