Physical Activity Epidemiology – Ulf Ekelund

Precise characterisation of physical activity and accurate measurement of the amount of energy used during physical activity are key for improving our understanding of the complex relationships between lifestyle and metabolic disease. The Physical Activity Group is involved in research to develop and evaluate methods for measuring physical activity and energy expenditure. We then use these methods to investigate the role of physical activity in metabolic diseases, such as obesity and type 2 diabetes.
