Application Procedure
Your first step to apply for a PhD at the MRC Epidemiology is to ensure that you meet all of the University of Cambridge entry requirements. Once confirmed please send a full CV, covering letter and the contact details of two referees to:

Only after you have been interviewed and offered a PhD at the Unit must you then make a GRADSAF application to the University of Cambridge.

Please follow the University of Cambridge Graduate School of Life Sciences instructions on how to complete the University of Cambridge GRADSAF: Graduate School application instructions.
You will need to know the following information when completing the GRADSAF:
PHD in Epidemiology (3 Years)
- Course description: Epidemiology

- Programme of Study: PhD (Probationary) at MRC Epidemiology Unit
- Duration: 3 years
- Study mode: Full-time
MPHIL+PHD in Epidemiology (1+3 Years)
- Course Description: Epidemiology
- Course Code: NUEU22
- Programme of Study: PhD (Probationary) at MRC Epidemiology Unit
- Duration: 4 years (if you are not able to specify 4, please select 3)
- Study mode: Full-time
[Please note that currently there is no formal link in the University system between the MPhil and the PhD. The Unit will be aware that you are applying for the 1+3 from your application made directly to the unit. If you are successful in your application and during the MPhil section of your studies, you will then need to apply for continuation to the PhD programme even though the Unit may have admitted you with the intention of a 4-year training programme.]
GRADSAF supporting documents
In order to be eligible for the different funding schemes you must ensure your University application (GRADSAF) is submitted and supporting documents are received by the required deadlines.

Application deadlines
MRC Epidemiology Unit Deadline
The deadline for the MRC Epidemiology Unit to receive your application is the 6th January 2012.
University of Cambridge Graduate School of Life Sciences Deadline
The deadline for University of Cambridge Graduate School of Life Sciences to receive your GRADSAF application is the 31st July 2012.
