The 2017 issue of the Volunteer Times, our newsletter to help keep our volunteers up-to-date on the progress of our studies, is out now!
In this issue we examine how the Fenland and EPIC-Norfolk studies have provided new insights into how the inability to store fat safely increases the risk of diabetes and heart disease, and discuss new research exploring the link between the density of takeaway food outlets and health. We also report on the progress of several of our studies, including the PROPELS study, which is investigating whether an education based intervention can help prevent the development of type 2 diabetes, and GoActive, a recently launched schools-based trial to evaluate a new programme designed to increase physical activity in year 9 students.
Thanks to all who have volunteered to take part in our studies, and for your ongoing participation. Without your commitment, this important research would not be possible.
