PhD Student
Population Health Interventions
Current work and interests
Élisabeth is a PhD student funded by a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Under the supervision of Prof Jean Adams, her research will contribute to the evaluation of the globally novel UK advertising restrictions for less healthy foods on television and online. More specifically, her thesis will examine how the food industry adapts its marketing strategies in response to the policy, as this could undermine the public health impact. The aim of this research is to generate evidence to help refine the UK policy and inform policymakers internationally who are considering similar marketing restrictions to support healthier food environments.
Background
Élisabeth completed a BSc in Nutrition at Université Laval (Québec, Canada), followed by an MSc in Nutrition with a focus on public health at the same institution. Her MSc research examined the exposure of children to sugary beverage marketing in six countries with different food marketing policy environments. During her MSc, Élisabeth completed a research internship at the MRC Epidemiology Unit, University of Cambridge.
