Current work and interests
Nourhan is a PhD student supervised by Professor Ken Ong, supported by the Cambridge Trust and Newnham College. Her research focuses on the genetic epidemiology of cardiometabolic disease, employing population-based and genetic approaches to inform patient stratification and precision medicine.
Background and experience
Nourhan obtained her BSc with distinction from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Alexandria University, Egypt. She subsequently completed an MSc (MedSci) in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Glasgow, UK, supported by the Chevening Scholarship.
Prior to joining IMS Epidemiology, she spent a year conducting research in the Department of Pharmacology, where her work focused on translational cardiovascular research, particularly the use of microRNAs to enhance the safety and translatability of cardiac RNA-based therapeutics.
