Visiting Scientist
Physical Activity Epidemiology
Current work and interests
Bing is a visiting researcher in the Unit’s Physical Activity Epidemiology group, currently under the supervision of Dr Søren Brage. His research focuses on wrist-worn accelerometer-based human activity recognition and health assessment using machine learning models, mainly on the Fenland study dataset.
Background and expertise
Bing is currently a PhD candidate at Newcastle University. During his PhD research, Bing developed machine learning models that can automatically predict sleep stages based on wearable sensor data. His research is funded by EPSRC Digital Civics CDT.
