Current work and interests
Jackie joined the unit in 2018 as a Database Specialist/Data Manager, initially in the Data Management team but later transferring to the Nutrition Measurement Platform. She is the Data Manager for the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS), and also supports other studies such as the South Asia Biobank study (SAB).
She is involved in database development and management, covering dietary data from the online dietary assessment tool Intake24, and data on biological samples. Her role includes data monitoring, troubleshooting, cleaning and production of datasets. She also supports the update of food composition data in the Nutrient Databank and in Intake24.
Background and experience
Jackie worked for many years as a web/database software developer in the oil industry, but moved into data management at the University of Cambridge in 2009. She worked as a Data Manager in the Cambridge Breast Cancer Research Unit, and then in the Institute of Metabolic Science on the Genetics of Obesity Study.
