Current work and interests
Juan Pablo is a research study assistant for the Fenland 3 study in Ely. His interests are in all topics related to physical activity.
Background and experience
In 2017 Juan Pablo obtained his degree in Physiotherapy from the Universidad del Valle, Colombia. He worked as a research assistant at the IDEAL Foundation in Colombia and created a small company called Funfit Cali that offered intervention programmes in physical activity. Its main programme was carried out with children from 2 to 5 years old to enhance the development of psychomotor skills in a sports environment.
In 2021 Juan Pablo moved to England to complete his master’s degree in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health at the University of Bristol. His master’s dissertation was on “The relationship of cycling to work (active transport) and the risk of hypertension in adults: a systematic review of observational studies”.
