Leonardo was a visitor with the Growth and Development programme during his third year of a Ph.D. in epidemiology at the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil. His project was about body shape and composition in a cohort of Brazilian children, and he joined the Unit for 12 months as part of the Brazilian Government scholarship programme Science without Borders.
Leonardo’s background is in Nutrition, and before starting his research in epidemiology and body composition he gained a Master’s degree in Nutrition, studying food insecurity and nutritional status in children.
