Prevention of Diabetes and Related Metabolic Disorders in High Risk Groups
Current work and interests
Sarah is a PhD student supervised by Dr Amy Ahern. Her PhD will focus on adapting the Supporting Weight Management (SWiM) intervention to meet the needs of people who have had bariatric surgery. She has a holistic perspective of health and wellbeing, and values gaining insight and understanding into lived experiences, to inform and improve practice.
Background and experience
Sarah is a HCPC Registered Dietitian with a range of research, teaching, and clinical experience. She completed a BSc (Hons) in Dietetics at Coventry University, where she won the Helen Barker Prize for highest overall mark. She then worked in the NHS as an Acute Dietitian at one of the UK’s largest teaching Trusts, before moving to academia. Sarah then became an Assistant Lecturer in Dietetics at Coventry University, where she qualified as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her time there also included a secondment as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Intelligent Healthcare.
