Current work and interests
Shamya Reny is working as a Research Assistant for the Fenland study, which investigates the interaction between environmental and genetic factors in determining obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and related metabolic disorders. Shamya is interested to contribute to research on lifestyle diseases, diet and physical activity in order to improve public health.
Background and experience
Shamya is a Registered Dietitian with over ten years of international clinical experience in the United Kingdom and India. She holds a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science in Food Service Management & Dietetics, as well as a PhD titled Nutritional Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Shamya has also completed a Bachelor of Education Degree. Prior to joining the Unit, Shamya worked as a dietitian for the NHS. She is also a member of the British Dietetic Association.
