Current work and interests
Sharon started in May 2023 and is working as a research assistant on the Fenland study, which involves data collection on physical activity, anthropometry, venepuncture and lab analysis, body composition, DEXA and ultrasound to understand environmental and genetic factors around obesity, type 2 diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
Public health is a great concern worldwide which drives Sharon’s interest in Epidemiology, and to partner with like-minded organisations in achieving equity in public health.
Background and experience
Sharon has a BSc in Biomedical science and worked for 3 years at Pathologists Lancet Kenya in the departments of Phlebotomy and Microbiology.
She is a British Great Scholarship awarded to pursue a Master in Public Health and Community Well-being at Anglia Ruskin University, completed in 2022. She also holds a BSc in Medical Laboratory Science.
