Current work

Vickie is Departmental Safety Officer for the MRC Epidemiology Unit. This role includes being the Departmental Fire Safety Manager and Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Assessor.

Background and experience

Vickie graduated with a degree in Biology from Durham University in 2011. She joined the MRC Epidemiology Unit in 2017 as a Laboratory Technician in the Laboratory Team and in 2019 she became the Technician Commitment Coordinator for the University of Cambridge. At the start of 2020, Vickie left the Unit to become the Laboratory Manager for the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit and in 2021 became a Samples and Partner Relationship Manager at the Wellcome Sanger Institute.

Vickie returned to the MRC Epidemiology Unit in 2023 as the Departmental Safety Officer.
