Background and experience
Dr. Chenxi (Erika) Lu is an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) and Technical University Berlin. Currently, she is a visiting researcher at the MRC Epidemiology Unit, University of Cambridge, where she focuses on the health co-benefits of active travel in cities worldwide. Previously, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Belfer Center, Harvard Kennedy School working on health co-benefits of energy transition (2022-2023). Dr. Lu holds dual PhDs from Tsinghua University and the University of Exeter. Her research centers on the impacts of climate change policies, carbon emissions accounting, and public health. She particularly investigates the costs and benefits of climate mitigation in sectors like transport, energy, and housing. Dr. Lu has published in journals such as Nature Cities and The Lancet Planetary Health and has co-authored over 20 publications.
