The GoActive study is now coming to a close! For the last 2 years we have been collecting information from nearly 3,000 young people in 16 different secondary schools.
The GoActive study team are hosting a discussion event. At this event we aim to bring together a wide range of people with a working interest in secondary school based physical activity promotion.
After an overview of the ‘GoActive’ project, we will have five themed discussion sessions available. On the day, delegates will be able to attend up to three discussion themes:
- GoActive trial: what have we learnt? Unpicking inequalities.
- Student voices: the GoActive experience
- Adolescent physical activity levels: who should we worry about?
- Can physical activity improve adolescent wellbeing?
- What is the future of school-based activity promotion?
Preliminary schedule:
9:00 – 9.30 | Arrival and refreshments |
9:30 – 10:00 | Introduction, GoActive overview and aims for the day |
10:00 – 10:20 | Theme 1 |
10:20 – 10:40 | Theme 2 |
10:40 – 11:10 | Coffee break |
11:10 – 11:30 | Theme 3 |
11:30 – 12:00 | Insights from discussions and closing remarks |
12:00 – 1:00 | Buffet lunch |
We hope that the day will support collaboration between researchers, policymakers and practitioners, and that it will produce insights into best practice for future secondary school-based research and health promotion more broadly.
If you think you might be interested in attending, please fill in the form below. Formal registration information will be sent in due course. The event is free of charge and will operate on a first come first served once registration is open.
